TRAVELLING TO MARRAKESH

Direct flight from your country to Marrakech :

Marrakesh Menara Airport in French Aéroport de Marrakech Ménara, (https://www.marrakesh-airport.com/)  is the main international gateway in Marrakesh. It is located at 5 kilometres from Marrakesh city centre. The airport is an important hub between Europe and Northern Africa, serving also flights to other Arab nations.

Marrakesh Airport is the main hub of Royal Air Maroc and served by European low-cost carriers.

You will be normally be given a landing card on the plane which you will need to complete prior to entering immigration. If you are not given one, you may collect one from the back of the immigration hall.

The airport is located about 5 kilometers from the center of the city which is easily accessible by taxi : Get to Marrakesh downtown within 15 minutes (https://www.marrakesh-airport.com/taxi.php) or bus, the cost will be about 10 euros. It is also possible to rent a car at the airport.

You may have to change planes in Casablanca, for instance, if you are flying from Asia. It depends on your airline. You can then get to Marrakech by train.

Trains are safe, cheap, comfortable and a great way to see the county. The trains in Marrakech operate to and from Casablanca and Rabat twice a day.

The rail network run by Office National des Chemins de Fer – ONCF –(https://www.oncf.ma/en/)  covers the entire country and the Supratours bus company takes over if your destination does not have a railroad station. Starting in 2018, a high-speed train serves the Casablanca-Tangiers route.

N.b. From Europe, It is possible to travel to Morocco entirely by train: Eurostar to Paris, then sleeper train through Spain, ferry to Tangier, and train to Marrakech via Casablanca.

Buses to most long-distance destinations leave from the main terminal at Bab Doukkala. CTM has their own ticket windows and ranks. CTM buses are confortable, secure . CTM Premium buses have a quality superior service. Buy tickets a day in advance or be there early. (http://www.ctm.ma/en)
